Nokia Research Center Tampere's open innovation partnerships include working actively with students from a wide range of technical universities and companies in the Tampere region at the Demola facility. This service was co-founded by NRC, and is provided jointly by TAMK University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Technology, Tampere University and Technology Centre Hermia Ltd. It was set up to enable creative talent and globally connected industry in Tampere to collaborate on concrete innovation projects to develop new digital products and services.

On Tuesday, March 10th 2009, Hermia Technology Center was recognized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications Finland for its contribution to enabling innovation in the region.
